A Wish Made in the Skies!

Singapore, 5 June 2010 – As part of our corporate social responsibility, the world’s largest Giant Observation Wheel has once again teamed up with Make-A-Wish Foundation® to fulfill the wish of WishChild – 18-year-old Hairil.
Hairil suffers from Spina Bifida and Neurogenic Bladder and has always yearned to go on a flight up the 165-metre Giant Wheel, soaking in the panoramic day and night views atop the Flyer with his family and friends, but could not afford to.

Hearing his plight and wish, Singapore Flyer decided to spring him a surprise! Working closely with the volunteers of Make-A-Wish Foundation, a special sponsorship deal was crafted to host Hairil, his family and friends onboard a scenic 30-minute flight. Express boarding was also arranged to minimise any discomfort to Hairil. To take things up a notch, Hairil who is a huge fan of Singapore Idol and Asian Idol – Hady Mirza, was in for another treat. Hady made a special surprise appearance and accompanied Hairil on a flight of a lifetime onboard Singapore Flyer, all in the comfort and exclusivity of a private capsule.

As the sunset beckon, together with Hady, his family and friends, it was a beautiful fulfillment to a wish made in the skies by Hairil, on a lovely Saturday evening.
